Former-Stone Roses Guitarist Aziz Ibrahim Announces 1st I-Tunes Release

Aziz Ibrahim announces the release of 'I Fought The Law', his first single on iTunes. Recent winner of the Jinnah Awards Music category, Aziz collaborates with Birmingham’s finest Dalbir Singh Rattan on Tabla. Originally written by Sunny Curtis it has never sounded better or more unique than in this Mancunian guitar/tabla fest interpretation of a classic song.

Inspired by a tumultuous episode which prevented the Brit from completing a European, Canadian and US tour with Porcupine Tree lead vocalist Steven Wilson (after the Manchester-born musician was initially refused a US work visa under new legislation), Aziz recorded “I Fought The Law and The Law Won”. What else?

The former Stone Roses guitarist bounces back with two co-writes due for release on the new Paul Weller album due March 2012 and an album collaboration with Ian Brown – possibly Mr. Brown’s final album commitment to his current record label. Other collaborations in the pipeline include a single with rap artist Akala (brother of Miss Dynamite).

Aziz has recently been chosen to take part in the BBC’s ‘Introducing Musicans' Masterclass’. Following in the footsteps of last years invited musicians, Tinchy Stryder, Mark Ronson, Gary Barlow and Labrynth, he will be leading his masterclass at the famed Abbey Road or Maida Vale Studios on the 19th of January.
