The award wining Shaanti and Shaanti 11 has created Champion Sounds, an artists showcase for local and emerging talent in music, dance, digital art and spoken word.

Celebrating eastern, Asian and western electronic music and arts Champion Sounds is a heavier and more serious outlook to the creative and music sector and we’re inviting artists to showcase their talent at the most important gatherings, celebrating multi-cultural UK sounds.

The aim of Champion Sounds showcase is to foster and develop, support and champion a vibrant, dynamic industry and to provide a world-wide showcase for the amazing talent in the Asian and Western electronic music and arts scene.

The award winning Shaanti has been bringing performances to the music arena for over 11 years. With respect to our growing, local artistic community, Champion Sounds offers this open performance forum the opportunity for both newly-established artists, and those that were outside the musical style of the fusion or electronic industry.

The concept of Champion Sounds is too sound-clash many creative musical and artistic forms and genres into one showcase night. It’s also about promoting new music on a mainstream level; it also a chance to showcase and promote exclusive DJ and live performances from artists from the Eastern breaks, drum and bass, dub-step, Asian fusion community together with an eclectic, intimate backdrop of raw undiluted live talent.

Champion Sounds showcase is also a place where artists and new talent can network, showcase and jam with like-minded people who love music. In many ways it what Shaanti used to be like when it first launched back in 1999.

To put it in a nutshell the night is about Championing Future New Sounds of the New Artistic Electronic Asian Generation.

Well what can I say...Shaanti, the best Asian Underground night going, it was a first for me to play at Champion Sounds and showcase my style at Cargo and I wasn't disappointed. I was the first act on and as soon as played my first tune it was already packed. "The Dholplayer Collective had pleasure of performing as part of the Champion Sounds showcase at Shaanti in Cargo on the 12th June 2010. The night was absolutely fantastic!! We had a great crowd and once we finished our set you better believe that crowd knew who we were! They were well and truly Rocked!!

It was also great to see & meet other aspisiring acts in the Champion Sounds showcase such as Universal Taal Project and Trav 'SAXC' Panesar as well as the established talent for Shaanti like Shri and Pandit G who quite simply are some of the industry's best! Thanks to Sharnita and Manga and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Calling all Artists:
We are currently accepting applications for bands, visual artists, solo performers and dance groups for consideration for Shaanti and Shaanti 11 presents Champion Sounds Showcase Night.

Performers will range in diverse musical styles from Hip Hop to R&B, to Break-Beat, Drum and Bass, Bhangra, Classical, Dub-Step and Eastern and Western breaks. We are also accepting applications from DJs, visual and digital artists, dance groups and spoken word artists.
