“Rewind Selecta” For Birmingham’s First UKG Daytimer!

Get ready to two-step as Brunch’in and UK Garage – our new monthly daytimer  – brings you a run down of all our favourite old school garage anthems from Monsta Boy’s ‘Sorry’ and Genius Crew’s ‘Boom Selection’ to the unforgettable ‘Flowers’ from Sweet Female Attitude on Saturday 27 February at Level Digbeth.

After 24 years, the influence of the UK Garage is still very present. The forerunner to grime and the genre that brought us Craig David through his Artful Dodger collaboration, and DJs MikeRuff CutLloyd dominating the scene, UK Garage remains popular among nostalgia freaks and those who never really let it go. It has achieved both underground and commercial success and manages to keep going in mini-cycles of pop crossover and undeground credibility.

In celebrations of this movement each week will be brining you mixes and archive footage celebrating this epic underground sound, we kick start the show with a unique document by Dazed and Channel 4, this is Brandy and Coke.
